Understand football statistics
Learn to read KopEleven’s cards with a few pointers. Each figure covers the displayed competition and season.
Read the standings
- MP
- Matches played.
- W / D / L
- Wins, draws and losses.
- GF / GA
- Goals scored and conceded.
- GD
- The difference between goals scored and goals conceded.
- Pts
- Points in the standings received. Rank follows the competition’s tie-breaking rules, which do not always depend on goal difference alone.
Scorers and assists
Goals include penalties when included in the total received. Non-penalty goals excludes them. An assist is the final pass credited before a goal; it may be corrected after the match.
Goals + assists adds those contributions. Goals per appearance divides goals by known appearances; it is not a per-90 average. A transferred player may have rows for several teams, combined per player in the full leaderboard for the same competition.
xG and xA: probabilities
xG (expected goals) estimates each shot’s scoring probability, then adds these probabilities. A total of 1.8 xG is neither a score nor a promise of two goals.
xA (expected assists) estimates the quality of chances created by passes according to the model used. These measures are shown only when included in the match data.
Matches and recent form
Times are shown in the Europe/Paris time zone. Half-time indicates a break; Live indicates a match in progress. Scores may be delayed or corrected, particularly after a video review.
Form summarises the team’s latest available results in the selected competition. Qualifying and knockout rounds may appear in the same cup schedule.
Why are some figures missing?
Coverage varies by competition, match and season. A dash means not available, not zero. Line-ups, events and statistics may arrive after kick-off or be absent.
“Last received” shows when data arrived, not when each event happened. If refreshing fails, a notice identifies retained data. Profiles are not exhaustive career histories or complete squads.
